Quasiparticle characteristics of the weakly ferromagnetic Hund metal MnSi

چکیده

Hund's metals are multi-orbital systems with $3d$ or $4d$ electrons exhibiting both itinerant character and local moments, they feature Kondo-like screenings of orbital spin suppressed coherence temperature driven by coupling $J_H$. They often exhibit magnetic order at low temperature, but how the interaction between screening long-range is manifested in quasiparticle spectrum remains an open question. Here we present spectroscopic signature such a metal candidate MnSi weak ferromagnetism. Our photoemission measurements reveal renormalized bands near Fermi level strong momentum dependence: ferromagnetism manifests through possibly exchange-split (Q1) below $T_C$ , while spin/orbital lead to gradual development quasiparticles (Q2) upon cooling. results demonstrate characteristic could coexist compete form ferromagnet, via that well separated space distinct dependence. imply competition bears intriguing similarity Kondo lattice systems.

Magnetization orientation dependence of the quasiparticle spectrum and hysteresis in ferromagnetic metal nanoparticles

We use a microscopic Slater-Koster tight-binding model with short-range exchange and atomic spin-orbit interactions that realistically captures generic features of ferromagnetic metal nanoparticles to address the mesoscopic physics of magnetocrystalline anisotropy and hysteresis in nanoparticle-quasiparticle excitation spectra. Our analysis is based on qualitative arguments supported by self-co...

Electronic Quasiparticle Spectrum of Ferromagnetic Semiconductors

We discuss the electronic quasiparticle spectrum of a ferromagnetic semiconductor, within the framework of the s-f model. Some exactly calculable limi ting cases (ferromagnetic saturation, atomic limit, centre of gravity of the conduction band, ....) as well as approximate theories for the general case are reviewed in order to understand the influence of temperature and finite band filling on t...

Experimental Study on the Magnetomechanical Characteristics of Ni-Mn-Ga Ferromagnetic Shape Memory Alloy Single Crystals

Magnetic shape memory properties of Ni-Mn-Ga single crystals were characterized by measurement of stress-induced martensite reorientation under constant magnetic fields. Also magnetic field-induced strain as a function of the applied magnetic field under different constant compressive stress levels has been investigated. All the experiments were performed at room temperature in which the sample...

A chiral ferromagnetic molecular metal.

The first molecular material with the coexistence of ferromagnetism, metal-like conductivity, and chirality has been prepared using an organic/inorganic approach. In this case, a two-dimensional packing of chiral organic radical cations (responsible for both the electrical conductivity and optical activity) was assembled with a layered bimetallic oxalate-based anionic network (responsible for t...
